with dance as her lifelong discipline, her painting practice is physical in nature and evokes movement through pools of color and abstract layers. chelsea’s work is personal, and explores the terrain of her emotional landscape during each studio session. the titles and genesis of each work come from journal entries, pockets of thought, and fragments from conversations with friends and God.

she is inspired by personal and collective nostalgia, natural landscapes, feminine formlessness and form. her palette and style are frequently changing.
